Meabh came to me with a ring that she wanted re-modelled into a new engagement and wedding ring set. We had this lovely deep green round tourmaline to work with and a diamond. She knew she wanted some form of swirling band but she wasn’t sure how we could make a ring set with just the two stones without it looking off-balanced.

We spent quite a bit of time working out how a ‘sweeped’ ring would work on Meabh’s left hand – thats not always as easy as it sounds as all our fingers are different shapes and sizes – and we wanted the big stone to sit in a certain place.

So the ring band had to curl upwards in a certain direction with the diamond on its right side. This allowed the wedding band to curl around and into the engagement ring and we added a smaller diamond to give the balance of a 3-stone set.

Its a really pretty set – the lovely rich yellow colour of the 18ct gold complimented by the green of the stone.
