Returns & Exchanges

I hope that you are ultra happy with your Sarah McAleer Jewellerysmith product(s).

All my jewellery is handcrafted with oodles of love and the ultimate of care and I build my jewellery to be worn and enjoyed everyday, as well as to last a lifetime.

I take pride in the fact that during 30 years of business I have rarely had returns.

As I typically handmake all pieces specifically for you upon receipt of initial order, we will have discussed the style, size and making of your piece before it goes into production. I believe this personal attention to detail alleviates most concerns clients have about their order before delivery.

However I do appreciate that with purchases of ready-to-wear ‘in stock’ pieces, sale or gift items, you may make an impulse purchase and change your mind. My refund and exchange policy lasts 14 days.

If 14 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately I am not obliged to offer you a refund or exchange but I would still love to resolve your issues and offer guidance on what to do next. Please email me at: hello@sarahmcaleerjewellerysmith.com

Non-Returnable Items

Please Note: several types of jewellery and goods are exempt from being returned or exchanged as detailed in the list below. This also includes ANY item that has been made-to-order, commissioned or altered in any way specifically for you.

Non-Returnable items include:

Gift Cards (cannot be returned, exchanged or swapped for cash)
Sale Items (cannot be returned but can be exchanged if within the 14 days)
Earrings (due to hygiene)
Rings, Bangles & Bracelets that have been made-to-measure or ordered by you in the wrong size
Made-To-Order Items
Made-To-Measure Items
Re-Sized Items
Engraved Items
Bespoke Items
Commissioned Items
Re-Modelled Items

There are certain situations where no refunds will be granted, including:

Items with obvious signs of use
Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to my error
Any item that is returned more than 14 days after delivery


Refund Process

To be eligible for a return you must first get in contact with me to discuss your concerns at: hello@sarahmcaleerjewellerysmith.com

I will require a receipt or proof of purchase and then your item will need to be returned to me unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also include all the original packaging and any ‘free gift with purchase’ or additional ‘freebie goodies’ that came with the order.

Once your return is received and inspected, I will send you an email to notify you that I have received your returned item and whether your refund has been approved or rejected.

If you are approved, your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your card or via the original method of payment within 7 business days.

Late Or Missing Refunds

If you haven’t received your refund within 7 business days after I have issued it, first check your bank account. Next contact your card company, or payment processor as it may take some time before your refund is officially posted by them - especially if it is going into an account international to Australia.

Sale Items

Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded but can be exchanged if they are within the 14 day exchange period.

Exchanges

I am more than happy to exchange any item within the 14 day exchange period provided it is not on my ‘non-returnable’ list nor is a made-to-order, specifically altered, commissioned or bespoke piece.

Gifts

If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return once the returned item is received.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver.

How To Return Your Product

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary. You should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. I don’t guarantee that I will receive your returned item.

Repairs

I am happy to repair all my own Sarah McAleer Jewellerysmith products and I offer a full repair, re-size, re-stringing and re-finishing service.

If your product is faulty due to my error, I will repair it free of charge providing it is within 3 months of purchase and you have proof of receipt as outlined in the returns section above.

General wear and tear, or any damage to the product on your behalf, is not included. This includes any damage caused by hand sanitisers, household chemicals, hand creams, perfumes, pool and hot tub water and suntan lotion.

I only replace items if they are defective or damaged as a result of my workmanship. Repairs and replacements do not cover manufactured items I may include in my work such as machine produced chains and findings.

After 3 months, all repairs will be carried out for an appropriate charge.

Lifetime Guarantee:

I offer a full repair, cleaning and refinishing service for ALL my pieces. My jewellery is made to last a lifetime and to be worn every day, but with that comes the possibility that over time pieces get bumped and broken, they become dirty or they don't fit anymore. Whilst this is not a free service, please get in touch at anytime if your piece needs cleaned, fixed or re-sized and I will be happy to estimate the cost of the repair and discuss what needs to be done.

Pearls should be cleaned and re-strung every 1-3 years depending on how often you wear them. Rings that are worn every day may need the stones checked for chips and scratches - its possible to replace or repolish some stones if need be. A piece can be altered if it doesn't fit anymore. Any piece can be cleaned and re-finished to give it a sparkly new lease of life!

I take immense pride in the fact that a Sarah McAleer Jewellerysmith creation is made to be worn! After all jewellery wasn't meant to be kept in a box, it was meant to be worn, loved and treasured everyday!
